Patient cannot burst the red bump forcefully because it will cause the pus to spread on skin. It will only spread the bacteria more. This infection stays only for a few days and does not cause any permanent damage to eyes. There are many causes of this infection such as sleep deprivation, lack of water or hygiene or rubbing eyes etc. Good hygiene habits can decreases the risk of styes. Sharing makeup tools or face towels etc., should be avoided.

Styes cause lots of pain and discomfort to the patient. Without treatment, it will last for few days or a week. To get the proper treatment most people go to hospitals, physician’s offices etc. Most of the times, patients has to wait for their turn since other people with worse conditions get the medical care first. Appointment is also needed in the case physician’s office.
